For those of you that are regular readers of this website you will notice a new format. I’ve worked with my blog coach Griff Wigley and Northfield web designer Sean Hayford O’Leary for the past couple of months on a site redesign. This was prompted by a glitch in systems when resulted in a loss of project photos on the website. But it was probably time to do some cleaning and reworking of the site anyway, which I’m dong.

For some a redesign is an easy thing — for me it was a chore. My main task is running Northfield Construction Company. I don’t have ‘extra’ time to fit in work learning a new format for a website. But I will have to give Griff and Sean credit… it wasn’t too bad. I’m the kind of guy that likes to understand how to do something, then I will be happy to keep using what I learned to do the task at hand. But with the site change from one format to another I had to learn new things. Bear with me as I use those tools.

This new format has a series of links on the right side of the page. I especially like the links to the green construction sites. I also am categorizing my postings so that you can find things a bit easier. This new site has pages so you can see some of our past work. You can click on residential and it will take you to a series of pages on new homes. Same for our commercial work. As we complete projects I’ll be creating pages for them.

I plan to continue to post comments about Northfield area events and activities. I have had good feedback from clients that were moving to Northfield who appreciated my postings about things other than construction work.

So, I hope you like the new website format. You can always send me feedback about things you would like to see discussed more in depth. Happy browsing.
