We are quickly finishing up work on the basement remodeling project we are working on. Once our work is completed the basement of this townhome will provide nice areas for the owner. We are creating a bedroom with large closet, a bathroom, an entertainment room and a craft room. The entertainment room has several bright recessed lights in the ceiling. We added a couple of small electric heating units to provide additional heat in each of the rooms. Lower level areas often have different heating requirements from the upper portions of the house in the spring and fall. A little booster heat can make the spaces very comfortable during those weeks.
The basement already had an egress window in a large area well, so we didn’t have to install a new window in the bedroom. We were able to remove it while working so we could haul materials in through that opening.
The bathroom was finished using a fiberglass
tub/shower unit. These work very well when remodeling and provide a smooth surface that is easy to clean. The vanity top will be cultured marble with an integral sink, another easy to clean surface.
